The National Eisteddfod of Wales’ Gold Medal for Architecture recognises the importance of architecture in the nation's culture and honours architects achieving the highest design standards, & George+Tomos Penseiri : Architects Cyf. have been shortlisted alongside other top Architects from across Wales.
Our design & development work on 'Cletwr', a community run non-profit venture located in Tre'r Ddol, North Ceredigion provides a shop, cafe and community hub which has gone from strength to strength since opening in Sep 2017. Through diversification - displaying local artist' work, providing a community meeting space, offering Welsh lessons etc. makes the site a valuable asset for the local community, as well as an excellent place to stop for passing trade.
A combination of painted black timber cladding & black corrugate roofing, along with large glazed openings and natural internal finishes make this new structure a striking architectural feature.
Awarded to buildings completed between 1 January 2015 and 1 March 2018, one of the shortlisted buildings will be awarded the Gold Medal for Architecture on August 4 at the National Eisteddfod of Wales held in Cardiff.

Our very own Architect Dafydd Tomos has been a part of the Epic Retreats judging panel for a very exiting architectural design competition - and the 8 winning finalists have now been announced.
These stunning new boutique hotels will pop up at locations around Wales as part of the 'Wales Year of Legends 2017' campaign. The design for these high quality ‘boutique’ cabins are inspired by Wales’s legends and its past - from our country’s famous industrial heritage to the story of King Arthur.
The partnership was a project run by Best of Wales Holidays , Cambria Tours | Teithiau Cambria and ourselves at George + Tomos Penseiri : Architects.
